Ensuring Fair Pay: Am I Receiving the Correct Wage?

One common question asked by Apprentices is, “How do I know if I am being paid the correct amount?”

It’s a valid concern, but rest assured, there are resources available to help you with this inquiry.

When you first signed on as an Apprentice or Trainee, you should have received a copy of your training contract via email. Within this contract, under the section titled “Employment & Training Details,” you’ll find information about the specific award that covers your employment.

To determine the details of your award, simply search for its name on a search engine. Make sure to select the link that corresponds to the correct year of the award. Once you access the award document, you’ll find comprehensive information about pay rates at different qualification levels, as well as the knowledge required to qualify for each level.

If you need further assistance regarding your wages and what you should be paid based on your year or qualification, we strongly recommend referring to this document as your first point of reference. In case you have any uncertainties or questions about the information you’ve gathered, please don’t hesitate to contact Fair Work for further guidance.

For more information, you can visit the Fair Work website at https://services.fairwork.gov.au/find-my-award or reach out to Fair Work directly.

You can also find more information in your Mas Apprentice Guide, specifically on page 7, which covers your rights and entitlements.

Remember, it’s important to stay informed about your rights as an apprentice and make sure you are receiving the correct pay for your work.
