Apprenticeship Completion Rates. What the Statistics Tell Us?

2023 Apprenticeship Overview

In 2023, more Apprentices completed their training with a remarkable 13.6% increase in the completion rate compared to the previous year. This growth may reflect the increase in training rates over the recent years.

However, the trend didn’t keep up in 2023, experiencing a drop in the number of people in training by 12%. Despite this decrease, Apprentices still represent 2.7% of Australian workers and make up an impressive 12.4% of all workers in the trades industry.

It’s important to note that while the number of male apprentices decreased by 9.7%, we’ve observed a concerning drop of 17.2% in women’s representation.

At Mas, we’re determined to change this scenario and ensure that more people, especially women, have access to the incredible opportunities available in the trades industry.

In 2024, our team is focusing on paving the way for all individuals to thrive in trades, where some of the highest salaries in Australia can be found. We believe in the power of Apprenticeships to transform lives and open doors to fulfilling careers.
