Progress Check

Take a minute… you have probably come further than you think.

It is easy to focus on what you don’t know yet, but have you stopped to think about everything you have learned since starting your apprenticeship or traineeship?

The tasks that once felt new are becoming part of your everyday routine. The questions you asked on day one are now things you can confidently handle yourself. That’s progress!

Mentor Tip: Celebrate the small wins

Progress it not just about finishing your apprenticeship – it is about the small wins along the way. Take a moment to think about:

  • A skill you have improved

  • A task you can now do with confidence

  • Something you have learned that you are proud of

Challenge

Take 30 seconds and finish this sentence:

“Six months ago, I could not ________________ but now I can.”

Sometimes, the best way to see how far you’ve come is to stop and look back.

Remember…

No one expects an apprentice or trainee to know everything. The best apprentices are not the ones who have all the answers. They are the ones who stay curious, keep learning, and take pride in improving every day.
