Tax time is just around the corner and, while it might not be the most exciting thing on your to do list, a little preparation now can make things much easier later.
The good news? You don’t need to be a tax expert.

One of the easiest things you can do right now is create a folder called “Tax Time 2026”.
Then start saving:
- Photos of work related receipts
- Tool purchases
- Protective clothing and PPE
- Training or study costs
- Any work related expenses you pay for yourself
A quick screenshot or photo now can save you a lot of headaches later.
Did You Know?
Many apprentices and trainees can claim certain work related expenses if they are directly related to earning their income.
The golden rule is: if you paid for it yourself and it relates to your work, keep the receipt.
